Not sure what to study? Getting a degree in digital communication and media allows you to get experience in many disciplines: animation, art, education, graphic design, illustration, journalism, photojournalism, photography, audio and video production, web design, writing - pretty much everything!
Depending on how your program is structured and if you're able to choose a focus or not, digital communication and media majors should have strong writing skills, an eye for design, the ability to work quickly, and an interest in new media. Much of your time will be spent in the classroom, but you may also work in the lab during audio or video production classes. You may also complete an internship, which will give you some excellent fieldwork experience in your chosen specialization.
The broad range of this major makes it possible for you to get into virtually any career. Graduates can go on to work in television, film, radio, or journalism. Some also become graphic designers, social media strategists, marketing managers, or digital communication consultants.
