Some people never grow out of their childhood fondness for animals - and that's a good thing! We need pre-vet majors to learn more about how to care for animals to ensure they receive the medical attention they deserve when they're sick or injured.

Veterinarians diagnose, treat, and research animal conditions, whether these creatures are domesticated household pets or wild animals like elephants and tigers. They also may perform surgical procedures, administer vaccinations. You'll be required to obtain a bachelor's degree before being admitted to veterinary school, and while in your undergrad program, you'll study biology, animal care, and possibly even psychology. However, many programs also require humanities, math, and social science courses.
