It is a great private, graduate school. The people here are open and friendly to differing backgrounds. It has brand new buildings and facilities with up-to-date technology which keeps students in the loop.
Tips for prospective students
It is a private, graduate school. We do not have any undergraduate individuals. It makes it easier to study here since everyone is respectful and understanding of each other's programs. In order to do well, one must work hard and study hard. However, in order to keep sane at any graduate school, one must make time for friends and fun too. Balance is the key work for any prospective student. Learn to balance both work and fun and you'll be set for you academic career.
Academic Rigor
My program is very rigorous. We have around 3 tests per week. I am also a first year student so much of my material is basic sciences. Most programs have a rough first year with many of the basic sciences and get more into the practical portion the second year.
Dorm Life
Currently, it is not deemed dorm life. We have on-campus apartments. They are many options to choose from a studio apartment to a two-bedroom luxury apartment. Some include dish washers and washers and dryers while others do not. It all depends on what the individual wants or needs.
Food and Dining
There are plenty of good options close to campus on Bell Ave. There is also a cafeteria open on campus. I usually bring my lunch to school in order to save money. But I have heard good things about the food here at school.
What to do for fun
There is much to do around the greater Phoenix area from golfing to cooking to games and so much more. I enjoy being outside and hiking around the area. There are also many options of going shopping at the Arrowhead Plaza which is not too far away or heading over to Scottsdale for the day.
Clubs and Activities
There are so many differing clubs and activities on campus. Many of the programs have specialty clubs and all are invited to any club. There is something for everyone. And if you can't find what you would like in a club, there is always the option to start your own.
Greek Life
There are chapters within differing graduate programs. Some are just starting and others have been formed for a while.
Campus Safety
I feel very safe on campus. There are plenty of security roaming around the campus throughout the day and night. We are a gated campus so I feel very safe here.
