Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Out-of-State Tuition Out-of-state tuition is the tuition charged by institutions to those students who do not meet the state’s or institution’s residency requirements. Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

3.45 Average Rating
YOU DO GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WHEN ATTENDING RAMAPO! There are always things on campus happening so students can attend. There is almost an event everyday of the week. Even with the academics, you get your money's worth because you learn so much. You also see where your money goes with dorming. You have wonderful student lounges, different events happening in the dorm halls, and even free laundry. In my opinion, we get the bang for the buck.
Khadijah from Union, NJ
Tuition, Room and Board, and other related fees make Ramapo a very affordable institution in comparison to other colleges and universities. Even though it's a public campus, it has a very private feel. Most of the amenities are state of the art including the gym located in the Bradley Center as well as the residence halls that make you feel as if you're living in luxury. I feel as though the amount of money I have invested into Ramapo will truly pay off when I graduate in May of 2013. More importantly, many former students love this place so much that they end up working as full time faculty and administrators within the college.
Adam from West Milford, NJ
I received Ramapo's top scholarship after all the hard work I did in high school. This is great for my family since we have trouble making ends meet sometimes.
