

Sandhills Community College
Surrounded by a heavily wooded area in Pinehurst, North Carolina, Sandhills Community College is a rural 2-year community college in the Tar Heel State. As the first community college in North Carolina to offer a transfer degree to a 4-year institution, Sandhills’ University Studies Department maintains an affiliation with the University of North Carolina system. In addition, students who maintain a 2.5 GPA and complete an Associates Degree are guaranteed admission to UNC Wilmington as part of the Pathway to Excellence Program. The Sandhills campus is home to a series of 14 themed enclosures, the Sandhills Horticultural Gardens, which are maintained by students enrolled in Landscape Gardening.
