The School of the Art Institute of Chicago was established in 1886 and is one of the oldest design schools in the nation. Located in the business district of Chicago, SAIC offers study abroad programs at other art and design institutions in locations such as London, Seoul, Zurich, and Vancouver. It has a “selective” admissions program and is one of America’s largest accredited independent schools of art and design. SAIC is associated with The Art Institute of Chicago and offers a liberal arts education in addition to its studio program.
