Easy to apply and admissions counselors are with you every step of the way. The online class formats are self-explanatory, and you quickly learn the ins and outs. You academic adviser is constantly available and takes the initiative in knowing how you are doing and if they can help you in any way.

If SNHU has your program of interest available and you want a quality online education, apply for SNHU. You won't be disappointed.
Academic Rigor
Professors do not give out grades for free. You have to work for your grade.
What to do for fun
Read a LOT of fiction. Watch cheesy TV shows. Go to the movies once in a while, casinos, and restaurants.

I give Southern New Hampshire University an excellent rating, five stars out of five stars. I feel at home here and have little financial, academic, or social worries. Southern New Hampshire University does an outstanding job at building communities and guiding go-getters to achieve their goals.
Tips for prospective students
One of my tips is to visit your professors during their office hours and to utilize all facilities and resources once you are a college student. It is important to apply for scholarships ahead of time too. Another thing to look into is if you have work study on your award letter and to apply for positions early online.
Academic Rigor
Academics are so important here that there is walk-in hours for tutoring, library reference help, and free one-on-one tutoring if you need it. The honors program is great for students who like a challenge!
Dorm Life
The cleanliness is outstanding. The Wellness housing has been a blessing by bringing me a safe, drug and alcohol free, and quiet living space where I feel comfortable.
Food and Dining
The food here is amazing and there is a great variety! There is options for everyone, even if you have allergies, like a gluten-free allergy. The food is fresh and hot as it is made as you order it.
What to do for fun
Personally I play bingo, attend campus events, do community service work, go to free movies, spend time with a few clubs, play soccer just for fun, hang out at the pub (fooseball, pool, a piano, and free food!), watch sports games, and do zumba!
Bang for the buck
SNHU is worth the cost. I highly value my education here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
It is a little unusual that we have an art gallery on campus but it is really cool! We had a ceremony as incoming freshmen which involved bagpipes, but it was interesting.
Great for these types of students
SNHU is great for go-getters-people who have goals and want help achieving them. It is great for students who like small, close knit communities and for those who like to feel important and known on a more individual level.
Clubs and Activities
If you like sports, there is clubs for that. If you want to meet people in your major, there are clubs for a lot of majors. If have a passion to help others and volunteer, there is a place for you too; you know it is good when you can start your own club to pursue an interest or goal you have.
Campus Safety
When I lost my keys, Public Safety was here for me. They can walk you home if is late at night and you are afraid. There are also emergency phones and buttons in a few common places on campus in case of emergencies.

Southern New Hampshire is amazing. Their counselors, financial office and teachers are all so helpful and fast in responding to students. I would highly recommend SNHU.
Tips for prospective students
I would recommend you talk with a counselor (even before you apply). The counselors are really helpful in guiding you or giving you the information you are seeking. If they do not know an answer to a question, they will find the answer and let you know.
Academic Rigor
They set deadlines at SNHU for when assignments need to be completed by. They are reasonable goals. You need to work hard for the classes you take, though.
Bang for the buck
They are reasonably priced for a college. All of my credits transferred from my community college classes. I was happy that they work so well with transferring credits from other schools

Online classes are SO easy to balance with my work schedule, classes are when I want, where I want! Online Instructors have such varied experiences, each one brings new information to the table- you learn about classes and work experience, life in your career path, and other school and work options-Bonus! The six terms per year make it easy to stay focused on just two classes per term, and your degree can be done sooner than you expect!!
Tips for prospective students
If you do online classes- stay focused and driven. online classes require that you be organized and committed, but there is also less of an over your shoulder feel. Much more flexibility allowed. Rolling deadlines make it easy to get in at any time of year- don't wait because you think you have to wait until the next term. SNHU's term structure feels odd at first, but once you get used to it, you may prefer it! I wish my whole degree had been set up like this- it's so much easier to focus on just two classes at once- and you're still considered full time!!
Academic Rigor
Some of the classes can be tough, while others are easier, just like with any college course. I have found that when the instructors know the class they are teaching is difficult, they understand that and are willing to offer as much guidance and help as they can to help you succeed. The teachers truly do want to help you graduate and be successful in life! Just communicate with them, and they will be there for you!
Dorm Life
I don't live in a dorm, I live off campus and take online classes. But if you're considering an online degree from SNHU, I strongly recommend it!
Food and Dining
I have never eaten at SNHU since I am an online student and live at home.
What to do for fun
NH has tons of stuff to do any time of the year. I grew up here in NH and whether it's the mountains in the north for skiing/snowboarding, or summer mountain activities (check out the ski area summer parks-mind blowing!), the lakes for ice fishing or boating and swimming, the many shopping malls, plazas and stores, or just the breathtaking scenery, NH has something for everyone. Just ask any local for what you're looking for- you're sure to find something fun and interesting to do!
Bang for the buck
Absolutely worth every penny. It's about 50% more than what my community college was per credit, but I prefer it at SNHU. The online classes let me live my life and not have to re-arrange everything around my college schedule 2-3 times per year. Being able to control my learning environment has even allowed me to increase my GPA- I'm doing better online than I was in a classroom!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
I haven'ts spent enough time on campus to accurately explain any unusual traditions or locations.
Great for these types of students
SNHU has classes for undergraduate, Graduate, day student, night students and online students. No matter how/ when you prefer to learn, they have something for you. Hundreds of degree programs and transfer agreements with many community colleges in the state make it easy to attend SNHU.
Clubs and Activities
So many clubs and activities, there is something for literally everyone!
Greek Life
Without even asking, I was nominated to join an honor society that can help students be successful long after college. Sigma Alpha Pi is a gateway to success!
Campus Safety
Always working to make campus safer, I frequently see emails about campus safety and they are always open to input and suggestions! Even though I don't often go to campus, I know I would feel safe there!

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is convenient and flexible for the non-traditional student. I believe SNHU provides students who need a flexible schedule because of work and family obligations the chance to continue their education in a supportive environment. Overall, I would rate SNHU favorably compared to other similar universities because of the support I have received from advisers, the quality of the education I have received and the resources available to students.
Tips for prospective students
I would tell prospective students first access how they themselves learn. If they are able to learn in a self motivated online setting then online classes may be a great option. If a prospective student does better in a classroom setting then that is the option they need to choose. I would tell that person to first look at their goals, second know how they learn best and third make a map of how they will achieve those goals and what setting will allow them to be successful.
Academic Rigor
Each class of course is a bit different but I have found that to maintain high grades most classes take a fair deal of research.
Dorm Life
I have done my classes online so this would not be applicable to me.
Food and Dining
Manchester is located near Boston and of course all the great places to visit in Manchester. A huge variety of options are available.
What to do for fun
I enjoy exploring the area for fun. Hiking and camping are always a great option during the summer and skiing is a great way to spend the day during the winter months.
One of my favorite things to do since I am not from the New England area is to take day trips and explore historical sites in the area as well as small communities that may be overlooked by most travelers.
Bang for the buck
Southern New Hampshire University is a bit on the expensive side. I have found that the quality of education as well as the experiences through SNHU have made it worth the higher price and given me a great foundation for my career.
Great for these types of students
I have found that SNHU is full of international students. This allows students from all over the world to get a taste of many different cultures.
Campus Safety
SNHU has always been a very safe campus. Crime on campus and in the area of campus is very low.

Dorm Life
Cant rate the Dorm life, as ALL of my classes are done online
Food and Dining
Cant rate the food and dining programs as I am on online student
Bang for the buck
SNHU is defiantly a school where you get more Bang for The Buck. With SNHU being a Non Profit, Private Collage, the classes are smaller, the education with your professors is more closely with a one on one, where they are available daily to email, video conference, School Chat Conference with you on any of your needs. Tuition, is HALF that of traditional Universities, public universities rang from 40,000 to 70,000 a year, with SNHU, the cost of one year is about 28,000, with financial aid, and grants, and scholarships, that puts most people at around 5,000 to 10,000 in actual tuition! And the education you receive is beyond top ranked. From Admissions, to Graduation, SOMEONE is always by your side to answer your questions and help you every step!!
Great for these types of students
If you are more involved with your education, you enjoy smaller class sizes, want a top education for half the cost of public schools. This college is for you. But you have to be determined to work hard. The classes here are not easy, they are super challenging to you as an individual and require you come outside your normal shell and reach higher.
