Established in 1980, Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf is a public, 2-year institution located in Big Spring, Texas. As the only self-contained community college for deaf and hard of hearing students in the United States, SWID offers associate’s degrees and certificates in nine career-oriented, non-transfer areas of study.
