Spartanburg Methodist College is a private, 2-year institution established in South Carolina, and is the only independently-run, residential 2-year college in the state. SMC offers six associate’s degree-level fields of study, including Arts, Business Administration, Religious Studies, Science, Fine Arts, and Criminal Justice. Students have the opportunity to enroll in Learning Communities, which include paired courses that share the same faculty, peers, and occasional overlapping coursework to promote interdisciplinary thinking and cultivate personal connections. SMC maintains articulation agreements with nearly 30 different colleges and universities, as well as a Direct Connect program with USC-Upstate.
