Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

3.49 Average Rating
Fredonia offers hundreds of courses to fit the interests of all their students. For the amount of money that you're paying, you get some of the best. The dorms are well taken care of as well as the campus itself. All the teachers are well taught on their individual classes and know the material well. They are always willing to help.
Amoree from Liverpool, NY
A SUNY college is perfect for a bachelor's degree if you are planning on going on for higher education. You get the same education for a fourth of the cost. I highly recommend Fredonia for scientists, or others, who are going on to higher education. Also, in general the money pays off, as the tuition is really low and the teaching is great.
Danielle from Rensselaer, NY
The education here is pretty solid, especially if you are a music or education major. It is a SUNY school, so it is cheaper than other schools, and the campus does offer a lot of amenities that others don't.
Samantha from Wilson, NY
At Fredonia, you can get a great education at a low, state-school price. Although scholarships seem to be limited, the amount you would pay at a private school is completely outweighed by the value of Fredonia.
