Am learning a lot
Just because this is a community college does not mean you won't learn a lot! The teachers here are wonderful and, just like any other teacher, they are here for you and want you to strive to do your best. They are always offering help after classes if you don't understand something, as well as being a tutor for you. The learning commons is also another place that you can receive immense amounts of help. It is full of tutors and fellow students who are only there to help. Not only do you get a good education, this time of your life is where you are shaping your future. TCC plays a huge role in that part and teaches you many things you need in life.
Am enjoying being here
School is definitely just school, but TCC is a very nice place to be. This is definitely one of the nicest community college campuses around Florida. There is always something going on at the campus whether it's an athletic game or just the market place Thursday. With it always being so busy around that just means that there is always someone to talk to on campus. It's always great meeting new people. The location of this campus is great as well. With smaller schools around, as well as FSU, you really feel like you are in a huge college town. But like I said school is just school so you have to make the best of being on campus and get involved.
Bang for the buck
You do get your bang for your buck at TCC. The classes are more than worth it, and I suggest you take as many classes as possible, learning is always something you can get more of. If you are on Bright Futures make sure you are taking the classes that you need and not just random ones to pass the time or take the easy way out. Once the money for those credits are out, you're paying out of your pocket for classes.
Tips for prospective students
You wouldn't go on a trip without planning a little, so I suggest looking into the classes and teachers you want to take. For those of you on Bright Futures, make sure you pick your classes wisely because you only get so many credit hours. Meet people in your classes and see if you can split the price of books with them, because they are VERY expensive. Also, if you meet people then you have a friend in case you miss class one day, but that won't happen now will it! One thing you should definitely do is GET INVOLVED! Join a honors group, clubs, work somewhere on campus, help out in the Learning Commons, do something! To get places in life you need to have connections and know people, and that all starts with getting involved. But most of all have fun while your in college. Your only here once, so live it up and learn as much as you can.
Great for these types of students
TCC is a great college for ANY student. Being at a community college you really get to see a huge diversity of people. From people of any age, to any ethnicity you will definitely fit in. Also, with having such a great diversity of people you get to know others and their culture. Everyone at TCC is very welcoming and it really adds the the great atmosphere that is already here.

Am learning a lot
I have been taking most of the regular classes to get my AA degree to be able to transfer. I have learned and I am still learning a good bit from my teachers. Some teachers just give you assignments, and don't give you a rubric, where others can tell you what format to use, like MLA, and then change it how they want it. Not only are you going to learn about the subject at TCC, but you will also learn how to follow directions. I think that college is not supposed to be difficult, but a puzzle. You have to learn how to follow directions, because if you miss one little thing, it can ruin your grade.
Am enjoying being here
School is school, and not everyone can enjoy going. I like it for the atmosphere and the people there. People at TCC are usually very friendly and willing to help and talk to you. There always of course the people who seem stupid, mean, or rude, but the best thing about college is that dealing with them is optional. The teachers are also very friendly and willing to help you understand things easier, just as long as you respect them and do not disrupt the class.
Bang for the buck
For the price you pay to go to TCC, it is more than worth it. It is cheaper then a university and you are getting the same exact credit. The class rooms are smaller, so you can ask your teacher questions during class instead of waiting until they have time to try and get an answer. You are paying for this, and getting a little bit better quality than people who go to universities.
Tips for prospective students
For starters, if you can, get as many credits out of the way in High School as possible. You will not have to worry about paying for those classes, and you will be ahead in the game a little. If you can not do that, there are other things you can do to make sure you do well. One would be picking your teachers wisely. Of course you have the teachers that do not teache well or a strict. You can use ratemyproffesor.com, but be careful, cause they may not always be true. Another good tip would be to ask students who they took and they liked. You can get a lot of options from that and look for the classes with those teachers that fit your schedual. Of course studying is a bit part of it all and they more you study and practice, the easier it can be. Also, go to class. Even if the teacher says they don't do attendance, which most do, you can miss out on a lot.
Great for these types of students
It is great for any kind of student. If you don't know what to do with yourself but want to go to college, a community college is better than a university and this school is perfect for those. I know what I am doing and it is helping me knock out my prerequisite.

Am learning a lot
The teachers at TCC also teach at FSU so the education is very valuable and I am learning more at TCC then I've learned my entire four years of high school.
Am enjoying being here
I absolutely love campus, I go to the gym all the time where I can take kickboxing, spin classes, and tons of others they offer for free! Because the school is smaller than FSU, the gym classes always have room for you and you and its a comfortable size. The campus is beautiful and every Thursday they have a marketplace on the sidewalks where locals sell their handmade jewlery, sunglasses and art. It really is fantastic and I am so glad I chose to be here.
Bang for the buck
If you have Bright Futures like me, it is a no-brainer. You get the same education for so much less and your degree that you recieve (if you continue on to a university) does not say you went to TCC or anything, you get the same degree as any other student that went there. It is underpriced for sure and is one of the best financial decisions I ever made.
Tips for prospective students
Do not underestimate TCC or any community college because you think it's not the same or not as good as a university. I can honestly say, living with a university student, that I get the same education if not more attention and focus. There are usually 30 people to a class vs. 300 which is always a plus. The campus is huge and the only difference is that you don't live on campus. There are plenty of places around TCC that are walking distance from campus, and TCC is very close to FSU and it is in the heart of Tallahassee.
Great for these types of students
This school is great for students who are independent, because of the apartment you would have to get, outgoing, because of the amount of different people from all over the country who attend, and ready to learn and work hard because although they give you the attention you need and are there for you, they do not give you any more slack than at a university.

I consider TCC as a very spacious melting pot of people all working towards the same goals as I am, getting that degree. (and/or certificate, etc.) They provide lecture halls and smaller classrooms to fit the needs of every student. There is a lot of extra buildings and campus life including the learning commons which is a free tutoring center, the TCC gym for people who want to get fit in-between classes, and the student union with food, books, and more.
Tips for prospective students
After getting admitted/transferring, make sure all required forms are complete before the first day of class or you will have to wait in long lines and will end up dealing with more stress before classes are even in session.
Academic Rigor
Learning commons & library provide a lot of resources for students to succeed in their classes.
Dorm Life
Not residing in a dorm.
Food and Dining
A lot of options for food in the student union.
What to do for fun
Gym, clubs, etc.
Campus Safety
TCC police is almost everywhere you look. Great for reassuring safety.
