Texas A & M University-Galveston

From a campus on Pelican Island, Texas A&M University-Galveston is a marine and maritime studies-centered campus of the Texas A&M system. TAMUG is home to eight academic departments conferring 11 undergraduate degrees in marine and maritime-related fields. Additionally, the Galveston campus is home to the Texas A&M Maritime Academy, which provides ocean-going vessel instruction by giving all students a chance to sail aboard a training ship for three summer cruises. As a branch campus, TAMUG participates in a number of A&M traditions including Midnight Yell and the community service Big Event.
