Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

3.73 Average Rating
The tuition and fees are about $16,000 a year, which in my opinion is very good for a 4 year University. The education that is received is quality, and the faculty and staff are very professional. Also the since the apartment includes furniture, washer/drier, and a dish washer, i think that the room&board is set at an extremely reasonable price. You will surely get your bang for the buck here.

For the great one on one relationship you get with your professors, available resources, great staff, beautiful location, and amazing students to befriend, USCB definitely gives you the most bang for the buck.
Ezekiel from Georgetown, SC
USCB is def worth the buck. The school is basically a home away from home. Everyone treats everyone as family and the atmosphere is small as well as friendly.
Altonio from Hampton, SC
The University has a clean and crisp atmosphere. The South campus was recently built within the last few years, so everything is brand new. The quality of the University including professors, staff, and location - you do receive the bang for the buck, which runs approximately $12,000 in tuition and fees alone.

DEFINATELY MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. AT 1/4 THE COST OF MOST SCHOOLS ION SOUTH CAROLINA AND A BETTER ATMOSPHERE FOR LEARNING AND ENRICHMENT USCB IS THE PLACE TO BE.
DAVINA from SAINT HELENA ISLAND, SC
You get a Private school education at a public school price.
Shi-Tremer from Yemassee, SC
The dorms resemble an average apartment with a spacious living room, full kitchen, two bathrooms, and many students have their own room, and every apartment contains a washer and dryer. There is even twenty-four hour campus security. For less than a fourth the cost of a tuition for an average South Carolina college, a student has all the benefits of a high priced gated community.
