What Students Are Saying

The overall rigor of your schedule depends on your major, but Valpo definitely challenges you! I'm a Nursing major and I spend more time in the library studying than I do in my dorm room haha. My friends that are Engineering majors also study a lot. The academics are challenging and prepare you for your career (the goal of a college education) but they are not impossible. There is also tutoring available in many subjects.

Valpo as a whole is very academically rigorous. The intention of this is not to screw over the students with copious amounts of unnecessary work, but this is done out of care to fully prepare them to make a difference in the workforce.
Carl from Plainfield, IL
The school is always making sure you are giving your top academic performance. As a student, you receive grades, class attendance, and class participation updates. The work load is manageable, and can be completed early with a determined attitude.
Megan from Kouts, IN
This school is an academic school. Going to class and trying are a must.
