Established in 1967, Virginia Highlands Community College is a public, 2-year institution located on a rural campus in Abingdon. With more than 70 academic fields of study available, VHCC offers associate’s degrees and certificates in both career and transfer-oriented subjects. Students have the opportunity to take part in the college’s Experiential Learning Program, which includes on-site training, externships, and several other methods of applied learning. VHCC maintains partnerships with over 10 other colleges and universities to provide transfer guides for students aiming for bachelor’s degrees.
