Recently integrated as an official college of Virginia Tech University, the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine is a medical school in Roanoke. The school’s curriculum is divided into two phases with classroom work and individual research comprising Phase I and multiple clerkships and clinical experience making up Phase II. During that second phase, students have the option to participate in international rotations in South America, Europe, and Asia. Outside of the classroom, VTC is home to numerous student medical clubs and organizations and recreational groups such as Student Wellness & Outdoor Life.
