West Virginia State University is a public, historically black college established in Institute, West Virginia. Academic studies at WVSU are divided into four colleges: the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Business and Social Sciences, the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and the College of Professional Studies. The university features a First-Year Academic Advising Center, which is committed to assisting freshmen and undecided majors in their college careers. Eligible high school students can enroll in WVSU’s 1+3 Program to earn up to 30 college credit hours while attending high school.
