Established in 1968, Western Dakota Technical Institute is a public, 2-year institution located in Rapid City. As the only technical college operating in western South Dakota, Western Dakota Tech offers associate’s degree, diploma, and certificate programs in 34 career-oriented fields of study. Academics at Western Dakota Tech feature hands-on experiential learning, and courses are designed to help students cultivate employability, social values, and skills in technology, analysis, communication, and teamwork. Western Dakota Tech maintains articulation agreements with six other colleges and universities, the majority of which offer multiple programs.
