About Us
What is College Greenlight?
College Greenlight is the leading college admissions ally for underserved students and the counselors, advisers, community-based organizations, and schools supporting them.
College Greenlight provides free tools and resources to simplify the college and scholarship search and bridges the information gap to connect underserved students with unprecedented opportunities.
How Do We Support Students?
College Greenlight works to improve outcomes for students, organizations/schools, and colleges with:
- College resources to help students along the journey to find and enroll at the college that’s right for them--- self exploration, participation in summer programs and unique campus visit opportunities, and guided college list building.
- Scholarship resources to help students easily find and successfully apply for local and national scholarships to help close financial gaps. We combine best in class scholarship search, the nation’s largest database of scholarships, and relationships with scholarship organizations to provide students with unmatched opportunities and support to win money.
- College networking resources like our CBO directory, in person and online events, and personalized college connections---highlight your organization, help expand your college network, connecting you and your students to wider opportunities.
Who We Serve
College Greenlight is dedicated to supporting underserved students and the advocates who work tirelessly to help them during each stage of the process. College Greenlight is completely free for students and committed to accelerating the success of millions of students by helping them reach day one and, ultimately, graduate from the institution that’s right for them.
A Community for Change
Our community is built by Community Based Organizations (CBOs), local nonprofits, mentor programs, college prep high schools, and colleges and universities that are dedicated to making education equitable. These mutually beneficial partnerships highlight post-secondary opportunities for students.

College Greenlight helps college partners build strategic relationships with Community-Based Organizations to maximize impact.

1,500+ Organizations
Our network of over 1,500 community-based organizations (CBOs) offers hands-on support to students navigating the college search process.

750,000+ Students
When colleges partner with Greenlight, they partner with CBOs to facilitate relationships with thousands of first-generation, lower-income, and historically underserved students.
Cappex and College Greenlight
At Cappex, our mission is to help every single student get closer to day one at the college that’s right for them. That’s why we started College Greenlight, a dedicated experience supporting the college aspirations of first generation and underserved populations on the nation’s college campuses. College Greenlight works to address important barriers to college access, leading to more students obtaining a degree, the most reliable path to economic mobility.
College and University Partners
Varying from small private institutions to larger public schools, our partners all have a common goal: make education accessible to an increasingly diverse group of students. These institutions build mutually beneficial partnerships with CBOs to develop a network of admissions and financial aid support for Greenlight students.
