Here are some of the scholarships with deadlines in August 2017. There are several national scholarships to consider, so look below to see which ones you qualify for.

 

Undergraduate Scholarship Program (CIA)

• Award: $18,000
• Deadline: 8/14/2017
• Description: This scholarship program involves working at the CIA in Washington, D.C., on summer breaks and after graduating from college. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old by April 1 of their senior year. See website for complete details.

 

AFSA Second Chance Scholarship Contest

• Award: $1,000
• Deadline: 8/30/2017
• Description: This scholarship is for students who are currently or will be registered at a two- or four-year college, university or trade school in Spring 2017. Applicants are required to complete an eight-question quiz. Award amount will be paid directly to the school and should be used for tuition and/or books.

 

Marketing Certified Social Media Scholarship

• Award: $500
• Deadline: 8/31/2017
• Description: Applicants must email a 500-word or less essay explaining how you think social media would, from a future employment prospective, benefit your career. Students also will be required to take a 50-question social media quiz. U.S. and Canadian citizens can apply. Please do not mail applications.

 

I Beat Bullying Scholarship

• Award: $1,000
• Deadline: 8/31/2017
• Description: This scholarship is for any U.S. or Canadian resident or citizen between the ages of 13 and 25. Applicants must create a sign telling others how they beat bullying.

 

ARTBA's Student Transportation Video Contest

• Award: $500
• Deadline: 8/15/2017
• Description: This contest is for students of all ages, and entrants are divided into two age groups: one for elementary, middle or high school students; and another for post-secondary, college or graduate students. To enter, applicants must create an original two- to four-minute video examining any aspect of transportation in the United States. See website for more details and suggested topic ideas.

 

Monica's Health Magazine Academic Scholarship Program

• Award: $2,500
• Deadline: 8/30/2017
• Description: This scholarship is for students who are enrolled in a graduate program or an undergraduate program or are high school seniors who have a valid acceptance letter to attend an accredited university or college. Applicants must submit an essay about how staying healthy can be beneficial to life for a variety of reasons and can happen in a variety of ways. Essay must be titled The Monica’s Health Magazine Academic Scholarship Program. See website for further essay guidelines and information.

 

Prevent Texting and Driving Scholarship

• Award: $5,000
• Deadline: 8/31/2017
• Description: Make thumb socks for your friends to wear to prevent them from texting while driving and be automatically entered to win this scholarship. See website for instructions. Students must live in the U.S. or Canada or have U.S. or Canadian citizenship.

 

COIT Clean Meme Scholarship Contest

• Award: $250-$1,000
• Deadline: 8/31/2017
• Description: This scholarship is for students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university or college in the U.S. or Canada. International students are welcome to apply. Applicants must create a meme that demonstrates the psychological benefits of cleaning. The meme should be visually appealing and easy to read.

 

Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program

• Award: $1,000
• Deadline: 8/15/2017
• Description: This scholarship is for undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. students, majoring in a science related field such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry and molecular biology. See website for more information.

 

Post a Note to Brighten Someone's Day Scholarship

• Award: $1,000
• Deadline: 8/31/2017
• Description: This scholarship is for any student living in the U.S. or Canada or U.S. and Canadian citizens between the ages of 13 and 25. Applicants can enter by posting a sticky note anywhere around their school with a note meant to brighten someone's day.
