Scholarships Expiring in December

What’s the best gift you could ask for this holiday season? Money for college! In between your holiday gatherings, take a look at these scholarships expiring in December. Take a look at this list, featuring the Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest. The remaining scholarships on the list are organized by application deadline.

Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest – This contest is for students registered as full-time juniors or seniors at accredited four-year colleges or universities. Applications are due December 19. The award amount ranges between $500 - $5,000.

Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program – This scholarship is for students worldwide who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a baccalaureate, graduate, associate's degree, or diploma program with a pursuing a degree in a science-related field. The scholarship award amount is $1,500, with applications being accepted through December 9.

Lammont Belin Arts Scholarship – This scholarship is for students studying painting, sculpture, photography, music, drama, dance, literature, and architecture. Letters of recommendation from recognized artists, experts, or judges from the chosen field are required for this scholarship. The award amount for this scholarship is $12,000. Scholarship applications are due December 15.

Westwind Recovery Residences General Education Scholarship – This scholarship is for students currently enrolled in a college or university. Applicants must submit an essay to be considered. Scholarship recipients will receive $1,000. All applications are due December 15.

Nutrition Inspector Scholarship – Applicants must submit an outline of an essay related to fitness, nutrition or dieting. Applications are due December 15. The award amount for this scholarship ranges between $1,000 - $2,000.

AvaCare Medical Scholarship – This scholarship is for college-bound US citizens or those in possession of an Alien Registration Card. Applicants have at least a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in a program leading to a degree in the medical field. The award amount for this scholarship is $1,000 with applications due on December 15.

Girlterest Scholarship Program for Young Women – This scholarship is open to women who are currently enrolled in high school, college, or graduate school. Applicants must submit a minimum 500-word essay on one of the following topics: "What Feminism Means to Me," "Body Image in Social Media," or "The Philosophy Behind Beauty." Applications are due December 30. The award amount for this scholarship is $1,000.

Apprentice Ecologist Initiative Youth Scholarship Program – This scholarship is meant to engage young people from around the world in environmental clean-up and conservation projects. Applicants must conduct their own local environmental stewardship project, take digital photos of the project in action, and write an essay about the project. The award amount for this scholarship is $850 and applications are due December 31.

2016 Future of Assisted Living Scholarship – Applicants must submit an essay answering the question: How can your major of study improve the lives of seniors in assisted living facilities in your town? Scholarship applications are due December 31 and the award amount is $2,000.
