Summer isn't exactly the time most students are applying for scholarships - with distractions like friends, warm weather, volunteer work or a part-time job, things can get pretty busy. But it's important to make time for those scholarship applications, no matter if you're headed into your freshman year of college or your sophomore year of high school. Here are a few to get you started on the summer scholarship hunt:

 

AIM Integrity Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500

 

ATA and AIM members aged 16-23 who participate in community service can apply for this award.

 

Colonel Sully H. de Fontaine Scholarship Award

Deadline: July 1

Award: $1,200

 

This scholarship is for students who intend to use their degree working for the U.S. Intelligence Community. Awards will be given based on merit, character and how relevant the student's studies are to his or her future career.

 

California New Car Dealers Association Auto Technician Scholarship

California residents accepted in or enrolled in a mechanical automotive training technician program may qualify for this scholarship.

To qualify for this award, applicants must be residents of Ohio with a parent who was disabled or killed serving in the U.S. military during a period of declared war or conflict.

 

Harold E. Ennes/Robert D. Greenberg Scholarships

Deadline: July 1

Award: $1,500

 

Students with an interest in technical broadcasting are eligible for this scholarship, though those with some experience in broadcast engineering will be given preference.

 

Mollie Butler/J.D. Orear Memorial Scholarship
