New Data: FAFSA Completion Rates by High School

In Paying for College on Jul 01, 2016

The U.S. Department of Education is now publishing FAFSA completion rates by high school and public school district. The data shows the number of students starting and finishing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at each high school. This data can help high schools provide assistance to their students in completing the FAFSA.

The data does not, however, show the percentage of high school seniors attempting to file the FAFSA. High schools can calculate the application rate on their own by calculating the ratio of the number of students starting the FAFSA to the number of graduating high school seniors.

The data will be updated weekly from January to June and monthly for the remainder of the FAFSA application cycle.
