Compiling the results of over 1.4 million student reviews on over 2,000 colleges and universities, The 2015 Cappies honors America's top 25 favorite schools across multiple categories. Check out the top schools that took the cake in the Best College Food category.
The idea of stale Cheerios and cardboard pizza in college dining halls does not exist for the colleges in The 2015 Cappies. We wanted to give you just a "sampling" of why students had such favorable reviews of their food and dining choices.
To start, several of the dining halls at the top of our list serve fresh foods straight from the schools' organic gardens. The food is so popular at Bowdoin College, that dining services has posted some of students' favorite recipes on their website, including a sweet potato quinoa patty and a carrot ginger soup. As another testament to the noteworthy food options in The 2015 Cappies, in her 2012 commencement address First Lady Michelle Obama called the VA Polytechnic Institute and State University's dining services "the best campus food you'll ever eat." The university also has grills that are scattered around campus so students can BBQ on a whim. Last, but not least, at Hendrix College students get a cake and staff serenade on their birthdays.
