Northwest Missouri State University is a state-funded institution based in the rural town of Maryville, Missouri. The tree-filled campus is designated as the official Missouri State Arboretum. Business, elementary education, and communications are popular programs. Northwest is home to the Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area, a horticulture complex, an experimental farm, and the Black Box theater.
Northwest is a small town with people that are very nice and considerate. The classes are small and the campus is a great size with only 10 minutes to walk from one side of the campus to the other in all directions.
Not a bad school for someone wanting a cheap yet quality education. I was always told not to base a college on it's campus but Northwest really does have a beautiful campus - trees and squirrels galore, bell tower, majestic-looking Administration building. The town of Maryville is not exactly a metropolis - it's got a Wal-Mart and a McDonald's but you've about a half hour drive to anywhere worth going to.
