American Sign Language (ASL)

Wouldn't it be great to help people communicate their thoughts? An American Sign Language major allows you to help the hearing impaired, ensuring that they are able to express their messages and understand what others are saying. The ASL major provides detailed instructions about signing techniques, transcription, and development of ASL and its English translation. Once you've completed your major in American Sign Language, you will be able to become a specialized interpreter for the hearing impaired. You'll have the qualifications to pursue a career as a translator, court reporter, interpreter, audiologist, or a speech education teacher.
