Avionics Maintenance Technology/Technician

Modern aviation relies heavily on electronics to ensure passengers, pilots, and cargo get to their final destination safely. Who's responsible for making sure these gadgets are in properly working order? Someone with a major in avionics maintenance technology. Avionics maintenance technology majors learn to apply their skills and technical knowledge to maintain aircraft communications, flight instrumentation, radar, and specialized systems for military and civilian aircraft. The degree will teach you to remove, replace, repair and troubleshoot aircraft electronic systems. As air travel and transport continues to play a critical role in our lives, it's safe to say that career opportunities will be plentiful. However, your success will depend on your technical expertise and skill. You may end up working with major airlines, aircraft manufacturers, or the Federal Aviation Administration.
