Interested in learning the language of computers? If you major in computer programming, you'll learn how to "speak" in computer code in order to create and modify software programs, systems, and applications for computers. Due to its nature, computer programming majors will spend a lot of time working hard in front of computer screens. Specifically, they will learn how to research, document, and completely develop program applications using a variety of computer languages and methodologies, such as Java, Javascript, Python, F#, and C++. They also explore database design through the use of Structural Query Language (SQL) and other programming languages. They also learn how to improve upon existing programs, debug programs, build and use computer-assisted software engineering (CASE) tools to automate code writing, and use code libraries to simplify development. They will learn all this through hands-on, real- and project-based situations. Many programs require an individual or team capstone project to be completed at the end of
