Dentistry

Smile! Why? Because a dentistry major gives you the opportunity to help others maintain great oral health and enhance their confidence. Majoring in dentistry allows you to tackle a career that will challenge and inspire you. Throughout your studies, you'll become familiar with oral disease, how to perform corrective surgeries, and reshaping or whitening teeth. Like other healthcare professionals, you'll focus heavily on disease prevention. Findings from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate the demand for dentists will grow faster than the average for all occupations over the next few years. As dental care becomes more accessible and more people seek routine cleanings or more advanced procedures, employment opportunities will be plentiful. You may prefer to work for a local clinic, but more entrepreneurial graduates may set up their own practices.
