Ecology

The relationship between living things and their environment has always been interesting - that's why so many people choose to major in ecology. If you're interested in a career that combines chemistry, biology, psychology, and nature then an ecology major may be right for you. Throughout your studies, you'll learn how organisms relate to their environment. Your courses may cover topics like biogeochemistry, ecosystem resilience, habitat dynamics, evolutionary ecology, and paleoecology. Considering the breadth and scope of the major, you can specialize in specific fields as well. This means you will have many career opportunities to choose from. Depending on their specialization, ecology majors may find themselves working as wildlife technicians, environmental engineers, park rangers, forestry technicians, or K-12 teachers.
