Successfully marketing overseas in one of the primary uses for a graduate degree in this area of study, but using this 2-year program to really delve deep into understanding large amounts of data and creating prediction models is another popular use. An alternative to a master’s in marketing is to strive for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in marketing. An MBA will offer more managerial options, if that’s the end goal.
Doctoral degrees in marketing are really only relevant for those remaining in academia or who intend to go into research. The focus is one quantitative marketing, consumer behavior research, and decision-making behavior. Natural progressions after earning a PhD in marketing include as college professors or market researchers.
