As a first year student i'm really glad i chose to take humanities core and i'd recommend the course to incoming first years, it knocks out a lot of GEs and isn't as bad as other kids made it sound. when it comes to friends clubs and living on campus really helped, i made a lot of friends at one of the resource centers on campus and also by getting involved in student government. personally i wish i had started working first quarter, i took a break to make the transition period from high school to college easier but ended up feeling like i wasted time not working. ooh and stay on the lookout for free bluebooks/scantrons, i ended needing to buy mine but they have them free a lot if ur on the lookout. overall starting life at UCI has been going really well :) (btw the $2 boba isn't worth it, always get fresh boba) read full review
