Food is okay. The 5 is better than the 459 food wise, but the atmosphere at the 459 is better than the 5. Food at the Student is better, but it is fast food and you can always buy food at Outtakes or Take 5. read full review

NOTE: I'm going to be brutally honest. I'm not going to sugar coat anything. This is my friends and I's honest opinions.... My unbiased opinion: This school is bad at communication. You will need to check things frequently and stay on top of your game. The information will rarely be presented to you starting out; you must find it by yourself. They will mess up a fee bill and lose your transcript; stay calm, it happens to everyone. Just work with them and it will all be fine. There are tons of helpful services at LSU. YOU MUST USE EVERY SERVICE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. Try every single helpful thing they offer. If you don't like it on your first try, don't go ever again. It's that simple. This school has tons of companies that come to job fair. They are looking to hire and love the reputation of this school. Most people struggle because there are tons of distractions. The people who drink every Tuesday and Thursday and come to class late barely make it out. My Bias: If you want to go into something like Engineering, be prepared to work 24/7 starting your Sophomore year. Most of the teachers suck, and unlike your high school teachers, they could care less. They're there for research money. My advice? Work your living butt off, don't party, HAVE A PLANNER AND WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING, get every textbook, do work almost every night, have little social life, make time to enjoy football and basketball games, go to every SI session and tutoring session you can (at least give it a try for every class), email the hell out of your teachers (force them to work), and keep your hopes up. Tons of kids graduate from this university. It's not impossible, it will just take a lot of work and time. Everyone cries about Himes hall, drop out classes, and True/false tests. Just remember that written tests are God's gift because you can at least get partial credit. Some of the department has been excellent for me; like 5 teachers. You'll do fine; everyone is in the same boat. read full review
