definitely take advantage of living in philadelphia. it's a beautiful city with lots of cultural options like the art museums, concerts, great clubs for dancing (once you turn 21). i recommend if you are an incoming freshman you join pennquest - an amazing pre-orientation program where you hike along the applachian trail for 4 days, meet other incoming freshman and learn all about being a student at penn - all while bonding in the woods. i did it my freshman year and was a leader my next three years. it was one of my favorite parts of penn. also, if you can study abroad for a semester your senior year - it greatly enhanced my education and understanding of the world. penn can be a bit of a privileged bubble at points so its important to remember and connect to the broader world and communities while a student. read full review
