as a female, i was really worried going to a bigger college. there are call boxes around campus and shuttle that run. there are two student at the library working that will walk you home at night. i was most impressed by the police. columbia is a big city, so crime happens. they gave me there cell phone numbers and told me to call the campus police if i felt uncomfortable. they told me they would pick me up and take me back to the dorm. the openess of the police and the safety measures were my biggest draws to usc. read full review
