There are plenty of campus cops, and the school is very good about sending out emails whenever any sort of incident happens on campus with the location, time, and type of incident. The single greatest thing though, is the Corp Escorts. On the back of your ID there is a phone number. If you call it, a Corp Cadet will come to where you are and escort you to wherever you need to go (on campus). No questions asked, just a tough guy or gal ready to help you feel safe heading back to your dorm at 2am. read full review

If you don't get in on your first try, it's not the end of the world. There are plenty of options while you wait for that admission letter, such as the transfer programs at Blinn Community College. If you aren't a fan of the traditions (really, it's okay if you're not), it's not hard to remove yourself from them. On the other side of that, if you're all about traditions, I don't need to tell you that there are so many opportunities to get involved (especially with FLO's). Sure, there's a military aspect because of the Corps, but the military feel isn't constant unless you choose to be a part of the Corps. Don't feel worried about fitting in, since there are countless numbers of clubs and organizations to suit your needs (and if there isn't, make your own club!). A&M is such a friendly place, there's no doubt you'll love it there. read full review
