definitely get involved. greek life is an awesome way to get involved; most greeks here do not fit the typical stereotype. it's a close knit community. there are a ton of opportunities on campus and also in the area. dc is only a short metro ride away - take advantage of that! if you don't absolutely need a car, don't bring one because the parking prices are very high. be sure to keep up with your classes and do your own research about your schedule, because the advisers sometimes aren't a lot of help. ratemyprofessor, while a useful website, doesn't always have accurate reviews. be careful about your professors. however, gmu is what you make of it, so as long as you get involved and work hard, you'll have a good time. read full review

the food in the dining halls is pretty good. the dining halls are all you can eat, and the menu changes, but there are staples like pizza and burgers. there are also vegetarian/vegan options available all of the time. read full review
