What interested me most were the independent study projects but also classes are rigorous yet extremely flexible (before each semester you and faculty member from New College will create a contract that sets a few serious and possibly not too serious goals for that year and a plan b if something doesn't go right you won't topple academically. Basically, if you fail a class it can be okay and they'll help to continue moving forward. Also a few other details but I cannot remember exactly what). The professors (at least the few from the computer science department I talked with) are intelligent, know what they're doing but are still open to new ideas and teaching methods, also have a unique sense of humor that's appropriate. read full review

All I can say is WOW! From the minute I stepped on campus into the pink marble College Hall that reminded me of Newport the library and dorms I was excited. And the freedom of the feet... people who know will know what I mean. read full review
