Collens Scholars Program

Scholarship Description
As a continuation of our growing relationship with Chicago Public Schools, IIT has formally launched the Collens Scholarship, a new initiative that offers eligible CPS graduates the opportunity to attend IIT as a full-time student with full financial support for tuition. Since the launch of the Collens Scholars Program at the end of the 2006 academic year, 181 CPS students have benefited from this scholarship. This need-based scholarship honors former IIT President Lewis Collens, who served the university from 1990 to 2007, and marks his legacy of commitment to Chicago Public Schools and the city at large. Requirements: graduate from a Chicago Public School in June; be admitted to IIT as a full-time freshman for Fall (note: transfer students are not eligible for this program); be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident; submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using IIT's FAFSA code: 001691; have parents (or guardians) whose income is less than $60,000 per year; complete verification process with the Office of Financial Aid.
