Academic Recognition Scholarship

Scholarship Description
Worth a total of $18,000 over your four years (eight full-time semesters of 16 credits each) the Academic Recognition Scholarship is awarded at the time of admission. Eligibility Top 20% of your high school graduating class Rigorous college prep curriculum in high school Planning to pursue a major in the UMF College of Arts & Sciences State of residency is outside of Maine. New England Board of Higher Education students excluded Flexibility and Options: This is a unique opportunity that offers you flexibility in how you choose to use your scholarship dollars while helping you make the most of your college experience. You can choose to take the annual award of $4,500 (for each of your four years at UMF) or you can elect to forward any portion of the annual award to use during your sophomore, junior, or senior years. The Academic Recognition Scholarship can be used for January and May terms, or in support of internships, study abroad, and research opportunities with faculty. It is renewable up to a total of eight semesters at UMF if you maintain a minimum accumulative grade point average G.P.A. of 3.0 and are registered for 16 credit hours each semester.
