G. Belmont Berry Scholarship

Scholarship Description
Highly motivated high school seniors who demonstrate academic success and leadership qualities are awarded G. Belmont Berry Scholarships. These awards were establish through a gift from West Virginia University graduate George B. Berry in honor of his father. The scholarships are awarded to four students from each of three congressional districts, plus three at-large selections. Applicants must complete admissions process by April 1 and complete the Berry Scholarship application, which is mailed to students who meet the following criteria. 15 students are awarded annually.

Renewal Criteria
To maintain eligibility, you must have an overall GPA of at least 3.00 after each academic year. Scholars just also earn at least 30 credit hours each academic year. Students are notified in writing at the end of the spring semester if these requirements have not been met, and summer school may be used to attempt to make up deficiencies. Students whose first enrollment is the spring semester or who deferred their scholarship may be on a different review cycle where renewal requirements are measured after the fall semester.
