UC Regents' Scholarship

Scholarship Description
All Regents’ Scholarship recipients will receive a minimum award of $7,000. In addition, recipients who have applied for financial aid and who demonstrate financial need as defined by federal methodology will be awarded scholarships and/or grants to cover the remainder of the scholar’s in-state financial need and if these students are from out of the state, they can receive loans and work-study in addition to the scholarship to help cover the non-resident tuition portion of their budget. The need-based awards are determined annually and are designed to supplement State Grants, Federal Grants and other outside scholarship awards. Regents’ scholars are required to report additional outside financial assistance and/or outside scholarships awards to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. The Regents’ Scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years for freshman recipients (8 semesters) and for up to 2 years for juniors (4 semesters). Students must enroll and pass 30 units per year with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 to renew their scholarship. There are no extensions of the scholarship past the 4th year.
