This award is for undergraduate students currently enrolled in a four-year college or university in the United States. To enter, applicants must submit up to three news stories that has been published in a college or university newspaper/publication or in an online version. Entries must have been written between January 1, 2014 and April 4, 2015. Work published for an internship or for a class assignment is not acceptable. Entries must be news stories; commentary or editorials are not eligible. Judges will recognize students who show initiative and original reporting and superior writing skills, as well as an understanding of the principles of freedom. Quality pieces should demonstrate a skill for accuracy in reporting as well as good use of sources.
