This scholarship is for high school seniors whose parent works at AK Steel in Ohio. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be the child, stepchild, or adopted child of an eligible AK Steel employee and must enter an accredited US college or university no later than the start of 2015-2016 academic year. An eligible employee is a full-time employee of AK Steel or of a wholly-owned subsidiary who achieved at least one year of continuous service by March 15, 2015, and who continues to be employed at the time of selection of the scholarship recipient. Selection is based on test scores, class rank, extracurricular activities, recommendations, work experience, and essay.
