To apply for this scholarship, students must submit a typed, double-spaced, 650-800 word essay about a personal encounter with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Applicants must go into detail about how the situation was dealt with, what they learned from the experience, what others may learn, and what was right or wrong about the way the incident was handled. Graduating high school seniors from Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington or Wyoming are eligible. Applicants must include their high school transcripts and a recent photo with their submission.
