This scholarship is for graduating seniors attending public high schools in one of the 68 Area Go Texan counties: Anderson, Angelina, Aransas, Austin, Bastrop, Bee, Bell, Bosque, Brazos, Burleson, Caldwell, Calhoun, Cherokee, Colorado, DeWitt, Falls, Fayette, Freestone, Goliad, Gonzales, Gregg, Grimes, Hardin, Harrison, Henderson, Hill, Houston, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Karnes, Lavaca, Lee, Leon, Limestone, Live Oak, Madison, Matagorda, McLennan, Milam, Nacogdoches, Navarro, Newton, Nueces, Orange, Panola, Polk, Refugio, Robertson, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, San Patricio, Shelby, Trinity, Tyler, Victoria, Walker, Washington, Wharton, and Williamson. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be Texas residents and citizens of the United States. Applicants must score at least 1350 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT. They must also be ranked in the top third (1/3) of the graduating class at the completion of the first semester of the senior year. Students must also intend to enroll into The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges accredited, not-for-profit Texas colleges or universities.
