This scholarship is for outstanding students from public schools within the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) in Houston, Texas. To qualify, applicants must plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school within the state of Texas in the fall of 2015 and major in engineering or a business-related field. Applicants must be ranked in the upper half of their graduating class upon completion of junior year and have an overall grade point average of a "B" or 80% and have no expulsions from school on their permanent record. Applicants also must demonstrate significant financial need and integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Applicants must be US citizens and/or born in the United States and be residents of Texas.
