This program is for students who wish to become classroom teachers in a Mississippi Teacher Critical Shortage Area or Subject Area. To qualify, applicants must be seeking their first bachelor's degree in education, have a cumulative 2.5 GPA, have at least junior status at one of the Mississippi's four-year institutions, and be enrolled for at least six credit hours. Applicants must also show proof of passing the Praxis I: Pre-Professional Skills Test or show proof of an ACT score of 21 or higher taken prior to any college work (no subscore below 18).
