This scholarship is for high school students graduating from a public or private high school serving Richland County, South Carolina, or who hold a GED equivalent. Preference will be given to students who are members of Zion Damascus Church Number Two. If there are no qualified applicants of Zion Damascus Church Number Two, the scholarship may be awarded to another applicant who is from the Hopkins community and who satisfies all of the other criteria for eligibility. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate the ability to successfully perform in their chosen academic program, demonstrate financial need, and demonstrate a high level of school and community involvement as shown by participation in extracurricular activities. Scholarship recipients must attend an institution of higher learning which is an eleemosynary junior or senior college that is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools or a comparable regional accrediting organization or a vocational school.
