This scholarship is for permanent residents of Washington, DC; Montgomery or Prince George's County, Maryland; Arlington or Fairfax County, or the cities of Alexandria or Falls Church, Virginia. To qualify, applicants must attend an eligible community college: Montogmery College, Northern Virginia Community College, Prince George's Community College, or Community College of the District of Columbia. Applicants must have earned a high school diploma, be eligible to complete high school in the academic year in which the application is filed, have obtained a GED or other diploma equivalent, or be enrolled at one of the eligible community colleges and will not have completed their 40th credit towards a degree before the beginning of the first semester in which they would be receiving the scholarship. Applicants must have not previously earned a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree, or a vocational certificate at any post-secondary institution in the United States.
